Third Sunday of Easter. Father Dave compares reading the Scriptures to sticking around for the credits at the end of a movie. He discusses today's Gospel about the road to Emmaus. The disciples on that road were discouraged following Jesus' crucifixion and thought that this was the end. However, they recognize Jesus again in the breaking of the bread. Friday in the Octave of Easter. Father Dave discusses today's Gospel and how we can use the example of the disciples during this difficult time. Father Dave points out that the disciples yearned to return back to their normal lives after Jesus was crucified, and relates this to our desire to go back to normal during quarantine.
